We all have someone we look up to and admire, and for most of us college students, Michael Scott has taught us many important lessons. As someone who as seen every episode of the office multiple times, I feel I know Michael’s character very well. I’d like to walk you through who Michael Scott is and why he is the world’s best boss.
Who is Michael Scott?
Regional Manager of the Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company, entrepreneur and self-starter of Michael Scott Paper Company, founder of the Dundee Awards, leader and friend, Michael Scott is an inspiration to all. “If you ever put sunblock on a window, you might be Michael Scott. If you ever called the fire department because your head was stuck in your chair, you might be Michael Scott.” –Angela Martin, Season 5, Episode 14. For many people, Michael has been a shoulder to cry on, someone to seek relationship advice from, and even served as a father figure to many of his subordinates.
Why Michael Scott is the world’s best boss?
First off, he has the mug to prove it. Though Michael bought it at Spencer’s for himself, his confidence is a testament to his abilities as a leader. When Michael became a co-manager, alongside Jim Halpert, he even got Jim his own mug to match. It takes a really great boss to share a title like that. According to a 2017 fan article on Medium.com, Michael treats his employees like family, works hard and plays hard, and is human like the rest of us.
I hope after hearing all this, you can see why Michael has effected so many lives.
Michael Scott left his wisdom in all of us. Without Michael Scott in our lives, work would be less fun, we wouldn’t feel as loved, and things would be too normal.
